"Some things that had never made sense to me suddenly became clear when I rode with Carrie. "
Kate Shaughnessy, Student, Wilkes-Barre, Pa

Carrie's teaching method is all about understanding. She strives to be flexible to meet the needs of the individual student and understand their aspirations and particular learning strengths and weaknesses to better devise a lesson plan. She sets goals that are realistic while still adding just the right amount of pressure to help students expand their skill base. Carrie aims for fully educated students that understand the Why's as well as the How's of riding. She will explain points of horse psychology and behavior as well as anatomy and physiology to better facilitate the learning process. Students will also learn the ways of their own skeletal system and how it relates to horseback riding. Carrie uses physical illustrations as well as literal analogies to help create a better body and mind connection while in the saddle as well as on the ground. She also believes that good horsemanship and horse care is as important as what occurs on horse back.

Our lesson horses here at Royal Rock are not your common school horses. These are Carrie's privately owned horses that she continues to ride, train and even show on a regular basis. They are attentive, well trained mounts who know their jobs. All horses are safe, sane and have great personalities!
